The Future of Amazing Africans

Prayer Request

The Future of Amazing Africans

Mimi and I, and HaMoreh Ministries, are blessed to call a growing number of African students our own and care for them as family.

At this time, we ask that you pray especially for three of them: Gratien (Rwanda), Becky (Ethiopa), and Loice (Kenya).

Gratien has recently graduated with a BS in Computer Science from Daystar University in Nairobi, Kenya.  We thank God for the finances to help Gratien through his university education and pray that God will lead Gratien to the most fruitful ministry that God may prepare for him in Rwanda.  Gratien is blessed with many special gifts, and we pray that brothers and sisters in Rwanda will be used to help Gratien to utilize all that he has to offer God, and the Rwandan people.

Becky will be graduating this December with a BS in Management Information Systems from Daystar University in Nairobi.  Likewise, we thank God for providing the means to help this little sister through her university training.  All of our African children are amazing miracles, but Becky may have come the farthest the fastest.  We thank God for Becky's summer internship with a not-for-profit microfinance enterprise in Kenya.  Now, please pray with us for Becky to finish her last semester well.  Please pray with us that God will prepare meaningful ministry opportunities for Becky back in Ethiopia.  And, please pray for Becky's family these days - they are presently going through some trials.

Loice is in her junior year of a BA program that Wayland Baptist University (USA)  is running on site at the Kenya Baptist Theological College in Limuru, Kenya.  Loice is from Melinde, Kenya and travels from the coast to Limuru 5 times a year for her class sessions.  We thank God for the means to help Loice through her university training.  Please pray for Loice's ministry.  Loice is teaching high school girls at a Baptist school in Melinde and loves her work there.  Loice is also very active in the ministries of her home church.  Please pray for Loice's continued growth - she is an excellent student and works very hard at her studies.

May God continue to tell his story through his children!

Answer to Prayer

God continues to tell his story through his precious little ones. Mimi and I, and HaMoreh Ministries, are most grateful to share life with young African Christian leaders like Becky and Loice.

Becky, our Ethiopian little one, has finished her coursework and all requirements for a BS in MIS degree at Daystar University in Nairobi and will graduate this summer. What a walking, talking, and praising miracle we have enjoyed since we first met Becky in my Old Testament class during her freshman summer at Athi River! Mimi and I have walked with Becky through much these last few years. We have watched a special girl grow into a beautiful woman. Her university graduation is the fruit of a faith and a hope that God gave to Becky. We have been blessed to watch that faith flourish. Becky has now returned to Ethiopia and is seeking ministry opportunities through employment. Please continue to pray with us that God will lead, guide, and direct Becky to what is best.

Loice, our Kenyan little one, is in her last semester at Wayland Baptist University's BA program at the Kenya Baptist Theological College. Loice is scheduled to finish her degree requirements early this summer and to graduate in July. Mimi and I well remember meeting Loice in my Greek Reading class a couple of year's ago now. Loice's desire to learn and her gracious demeanor are unforgettable! Her ministry has widened and deepened as Loice has devoted herself to serving God with her mind and spirit. Teaching young ladies and serving in her home church, Loice has neared her goal of a university degree. Please continue to pray that God will give Loice all that she needs to finish well!

Thank you, Lord, for the joy of sharing in these amazing journeys of faith!
