Not long ago Alex Smiley was living comfortably and making a decent living working in the oil industry. Alex soon realized God was the source of his prosperity and he was lead to leave his job in order to serve God as a minister.

While preparing for ministry at Houston Baptist University, Alex and Jamie quickly became friends united by their devotion to Christ and compassion for Africans. Alex was then given the opportunity this past summer to go on mission to Kenya, ministering at Little Eden children's home and Kenya Baptist Theological College.

Alex has returned to Africa already this fall, planning to spend some weeks serving in South Africa followed by some months serving in Kenya.

Please join us in praying for Alex as he works for and relates to the people of Africa.

Pray for Alex's safety as he travels throughout the various cities and countries where he will be working in Africa.

Pray for Alex's mind and body - that he would know God's comfort and peace and that he would find both the rest and the vitality that only our Lord can provide.

Pray for Alex's missions while in Africa - that God would be glorified through his service and that he would give Alex plenty of opportunities to share the gospel message and encourage his African brothers and sisters in Christ.

Pray also that the complex logistics of Alex's trip will come together for his extended stay in Africa.
