After quitting his job in the oil and gas industry, Alex Smiley left his comfortable Texas life behind in order to come alongside his struggling African brothers and sisters in Christ.  Although Alex does not consider himself to have a specific skill set, he has answered God's call to come and help Kenyans in need.  Alex has spent several months at the Kenya Baptist Theological College teaching, providing manual labor in campus construction projects, encouraging and praying for staff and students, and evangelizing the lost in surrounding villages.  He has also been helping take care of the children and facilities at Little Eden orphanage nearby.  Through his experiences in Kenya, Alex has learned much about God's purposes in our participation in the realization of the Great Commission.
